The Media Academy of Telangana (MATG) organised Refresher Classes for Working Journalists of Nalgonda District on 23rd and 24th January at its Auditorium in Media academy of Telangana in Hyderabad.
The programme aimed at upgrading professional skills, enhancing ethical journalism, and equipping journalists with contemporary knowledge relevant to the fast-changing media landscape.

Objectives of the Refresher Classes
The refresher classes were designed to:
- Strengthen professional journalism standards
- Introduce journalists to emerging digital and AI-driven tools
- Create awareness on legal, cyber, and ethical issues
- Revisit the evolution of journalism in Telangana

Eminent resource persons and subject experts delivered lectures on the following important themes:
- Telangana Journalism: Past, Present & Future – evolution, milestones, and future direction
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Journalism – tools, opportunities, and challenges
- Digital Media & Electronic Media – trends, content creation, and audience engagement
- Rural News Reporting – issues, ground realities, and development-oriented journalism
- RTI Act, 2005 – legal provisions and effective use by journalists
- Fake News & Cyber Crime – identification, verification, and legal safeguards
Participation and Learning Outcomes
A Large number of working journalists from Nalgonda District actively participated in the two-day programme.
Through interactive sessions, expert discussions, and real-time case studies, participants gained practical exposure, updated professional knowledge, and enhanced reporting skills relevant to print, electronic, and digital media.
