Personal Background:  Sri Allam Narayana born on 13th December, 1958, to Smt. Buchemma and Sri Narasaiah at Gajulapally village, Manthani mandal of Karimnagar district. He has two brothers, Sri Rajaiah and Sri Veeraiah elder to him and they are also prominent writers.After completing his schooling in Karimnagar Sri Narayana, did his post-graduation in sociology from Osmania University.

He started his career as journalist in ‘Jeevagadda’ a telugu daily started from Karimnagar under the editorship of eminent journalist late Sri Vijaya Kumar. During his 30 year span as journalist, he worked at Bengaluru, Vijayawada and Hyderabad in different positions of the prominent news-papers like Andhra Prabha, Andhra Jyothi, Prajatantra, before rising to the position of Editor of ‘Namasthe Telangana’ a telugu daily, which played a beacon’s role during Telangana movement. His writings on self-respect of Telanganites are superb.

Sri Narayana’s column ‘Pranahitha’ is famous for its flowery and fiery language. His other columns Allam Karam, life-line, Ennello Konallo remind us of his writings like river flow and sometimes protests like thunder. His other poetic contribution to the society are Jagitiala Palle, Yadi Manaadi, Compilation of Telugu Essays and translation of Ayyamkali published by Hyderabad Book Trust.

In the year 2001 he lead the agitation for separate state of Telangana with all journalists of ten districts of the region. He established Telangana Journalists Forum and was the founder Convenor of the Forum for 13 long years Telangana Movement. He convened a meeting with 10,000 strong gathering of working journalists from all corners of Telangana at Exhibition Grounds, which was addressed by our beloved Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao. At this place the Telangana Union of Working Journalists has took shape and was registered under the Presidentship of Sri Narayana. He is also founding member of Forum for Social Change and is the President of the Forum. His wife Smt Padma has all leadership qualities and also lead the ‘Ammala Sangham’.

In recognition of his great services to awaken the strong will for separate state, Sri KCR has nominated Sri Narayana as first Chairman of Telanagana State Press Academy in July 2014.
