
The prestigious “Naseem Arifi Urdu Media Awards–2025” ceremony was held grandly at the state-of-the-art auditorium of the Media Academy of Telangana, Nampally, Hyderabad. The programme was organized by the CETI Foundation in collaboration with the Media Academy of Telangana to honour distinguished personalities for their remarkable contribution to Urdu journalism and media.
Former Foreign Secretary and senior diplomat Dr. Ausaf Sayeed attended the programme as Chief Guest and paid rich tributes to late Naseem Arifi for his outstanding services to Urdu journalism. He emphasized the importance of responsible journalism and encouraged young journalists to uphold professional ethics and social commitment.
The programme was presided over by Shri K. Sreenivas Reddy, Chairman, Media Academy of Telangana. Addressing the gathering, he explained the history and objectives of the Media Academy and recalled that he had served as the first Chairman of the Academy in 1996. He further stated that the Academy had recently released 12 monographs on veteran journalists to preserve journalistic history for future generations. The event was coordinated by Syed Basharat Ali, Founder of CETI Foundation. Prof. Ebtesham Ahmad Khan, Dean and Head, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, MANUU, spoke about the significance of the awards and appreciated the efforts being made to encourage Urdu journalism. Shri Amir Ullah Khan, Member, Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), also addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing importance of Urdu media in contemporary society.
On the occasion, awards were presented to Mohammed Aliuddin, M.D. Fazal, Rohini Singh and another distinguished journalist for their excellence in Urdu media and journalism. The programme witnessed the participation of senior journalists, media professionals, writers, academicians and Urdu language enthusiasts.
